Personal Development

Personal Development

Most people seek Personal development when they are looking for more self-awareness and insight into their life, or they want to improving themselves, and develop and grow as an individual. Often it is at a point when one starts to ask questions of themselves and of others such as:

  • Where is my life going
  • I can’t continue this way
  • I know deep down inside what I am doing is not working for me, but where do I go from here
  • I feel very dissatisfied in my life and am blaming others for my own dissatisfaction

Personal development includes formal and informal activities, methods, tools, techniques and strategies that are designed to improve awareness and identity, develop talents and potential, enhance the individual and the quality of life and contribute to the realization of dreams and aspirations.

In many respects I find that Personal Development and Counselling become complementary to each other over time as I work with a person. They are similar in that they are both aiming at increasing insight and awareness and making your life more rewarding and fulfilling. However they are also vast differences in terms of  approach, techniques, tools and strategies.
